NYAB Ab

In July 2021, Active Owners led by Markku Kankaala carried out an operation in which Skarta Finland group was listed on the Helsinki First North marketplace using the “reverse takeover” method. Skarta Group Oyj was born, and Andament Oy became the main owner. In the same context, several other Active Owners were invited to participate in the operation. They invested around €8 million in connection with the arrangement. The family office Haapalandia Invest Oy (Martti Haapala) was one of the largest participants.  

Today, the company is known as NYAB Ab, as in June 2024, the company completed a relocation of its headquarters (Luleå) and switched its stock listing to the Stockholm First North Premier marketplace. 

NYAB is a builder of a clean future with decades of experience in demanding construction projects. The business focuses on energy, infrastructure, and industrial construction as well as renewable energy project development. The company enables the Nordic green transition by providing planning, construction, and maintenance services for renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure to public and private sector clients. The vision is to be a pioneer in clean energy solutions and a valued partner in building a carbon-neutral society in the Nordic region. 

NYAB took its current form in the spring of 2022 with the merger of the Finnish Skarta Group and the Swedish NYAB Group. Headquarters of NYAB is in Luleå, and the company has approximately 380 employees at various locations in Finland and Sweden. 

On June 28, 2024, the share listing of NYAB moved from Nasdaq First North Growth Market Finland to Nasdaq First North Premier Growth Market Sweden following the company's transfer of its domicile from Finland to Sweden. 

Valuation of NYAB at the start of the listing in the spring of 2021 was around €50 million. At the end of 2021, company’s market value was already €285 million. NYAB was the seventh best value gainer of the stock exchange year 2021. In the summer of 2024, market value of the company is about 400 M€.
